Chef Wanted for Sommarøy - Seasonal Position with Possibility of Extension
Would you like to work as a chef in the beautiful surroundings of Sommarøy, just outside Tromsø? We are currently looking for a skilled and dedicated chef to join our team at Sommarøy Hotel for an exciting seasonal position.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a kitchen, takes pride in using quality ingredients, and would love to combine work with unforgettable nature experiences in Northern Norway.
The position is full-time (100%), starting in November and running until the end of March, with the possibility of extension.
Job Responsibilities
Preparing and presenting dinner dishes and à la carte meals.
Ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation.
Contributing to the efficient and well-organised daily operation of the kitchen.
Maintaining high standards of hygiene and following food safety procedures, including HACCP.
Working closely with the kitchen team and other departments.
Contributing to a positive working environment and excellent guest experiences.
Qualifications
Experience as a chef in a hotel, restaurant, or similar establishment.
Experience with à la carte service.
A professional chef qualification is preferred, but relevant work experience may compensate.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Good understanding of ingredients, food quality, and kitchen routines.
Organised, flexible, and solution-oriented.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Fluent in either Norwegian or English.

Staff accommodation available for only NOK 2,500 per month. You will have your own bedroom in a shared house with two other chefs.
